I personally think the verification idea would be extremely helpful. It won’t 100% prevent any “bad actors ” but it might deter a few people. And yes, discretion amd privacy are important.
That’s a really good point. The open to interpretation is a whole subjective layer. It was just a fun little concept that we had mused without any real plan of action.
Verifying though is a massive help and I look forward to how you set it up down the line!

I would love a way to personally vouch for some members but I understand if that’s too much. I wouldn’t have mentioned it but for this discussion. But there’s a guy that I was wanting somehow to plug for other users just to say he’s a great guy and they should give him a chance (obvi we’re not exclusive or serious) when I see his classified ads. 😉
@highdesertmilk, I think about that too. We could have a personal recommendation section under a person’s profile.
Perhaps *some* men may be on their better behavior? Lol@new-in-nj right!?? It would be helpful to have a thumbs down vote, but that’s probably not heading in the right direction for this site. 😂
@highdesertmilk I think it definitely needs more than thumbs up or thumbs down. I’d like to be able to write reviews. At least others would know that person is real. Not sure if bad reviews would be well received though. Then it becomes he said/she said.
Shhh, maybe we women could have a secret code word in the review and then we could share the real deal in DMs 🤣🤣Five star system hidden from male members so they can’t just fake their average rating.

I know on some sites you can leave a verification and it shows up the person has 1 verification. Its then up to that person if they display the verification which if is positive why wouldnt they and if they dont display it well you know they have one verification that’s possibly negative
The same should apply both ways though.
Shouldn’t the verification be to prove that you’re human? Not a bot. Not someone that gets kicked off, then comes back under another name.

@tuehlykv I’m a moderator of another lactation group where we do verify for age (due to explicit content). The perk/incentive to verify is that you have access to parts of the site that unverified members do not. I personally felt uncomfortable providing information to a stranger online to become verified and resisted it for a while. I’m sure most of us who are regulars here would not have that problem with you, since we feel like we know you. I ended up verifying only to become a moderator. My point being, people may be more interested in verifying if there is a perk, for some, the green check might be enough (I want one!) for others it may be more. You may also need a team to help if you get a flood of people requesting verifications, which could change the dynamic if it’s not you personally looking at credentials. I’m also happy to share our procedure, if you’re interested.
Sorry guys, there can not be any voting system or users publicly rating other users or secret lists of dodgy males or flakey females or anything of that nature. It would certainly lead to all sorts of problems, bad feeling, revenge down-rating, a very bad atmosphere on the site overall.
Not gonna happen, sorry.
