Thoughts on if there was a review portion on people’s profiles so other ABF-ers can leave comments and a star rating? Or perhaps a peer verification section to show meets have happened and went smoothly? Think it would be a good addition for safety/security rather than just paying an arbitrary fee to be verified. Although I do understand donations are required for server costs/developers etc.
Bad idea for something so intimate.
Okay. So perhaps just a simple peer verification then. Like a verified tick counter.
No thanks. It wouldn’t be any better than reviews left for products, services, restaurants, etc…
Not interested in it turning into a contest.
Who would arbitrate such a system? So if you meet someone and think all went well but they actually didn’t feel the same and decided to leave you a crap rating. Who decides whose opinion is more valid?
We’re not buying products like on eBay here.
Absolutely not!
Lol Fab has it so was just an idea XD
Marty, thanks for your suggestion.
I did briefly look into such a ratings-system – quite a while ago – to see if it might be useful. But it was immediately clear that it would cause problems; basically, all the issues listed above in these comments. So it never even got a try-out.
@tuehlykv thank you for your measured and reasonable response, I appreciate it 🙂
I totally agree that a rating system is a bad idea but is it also such a bad idea to be verified as a real person who actually follows through with meetups (separate and apart from being a real person behind a profile)?
It could be a way to weed out those that aren’t interested in you, in particular, versus those time wasters with no intention of meeting anyone in person.
It could be as simple as Y/N or +/-
