@ Deborah , you really made me think. I have an I.Q. of 140, but no one, except my husband has EVER mentioned my intelligence. I’ve had many compliments on my breasts and appearance, though. Maybe I am presenting my looks first, because I know that gets a stronger reaction…. Hmmm… something to ponder.
April 24, 2022 at 1:27 am #129384@galacta Deb or Ah is a pretty smart individual. When chatting with her I feel like I’m a synapse or two behind in the conversation. It’s refreshing. Doh!
It is enlightening to get insight from your writings. Thanks Lotus for bringing up this subject.
I wish to become a better male subject to my female overlords.😜
Have a good night ladies. 🤗April 24, 2022 at 1:44 am #129389Anonymous
InactiveThank you for sharing your experience Deborah.
Well Galacta, glad that your husband has mentioned your intelligence. I’d like to say that some of us on the site also have a deep appreciation for our partners’ brains, just like your husband does. You just haven’t met us.
For example, I have interacted with a few super smart ladies, including a college professor. I was very lucky to meet my current partner who is well educated with a post grad degree. We are able to engage ourselves in in-depth conversation inside and outside of abf. We wouldn’t have formed the relationship without recognizing and respecting each other’s intelligence.April 24, 2022 at 2:36 am #129406Anonymous
InactiveWell said, and in that light I’ve had the pleasure of dating two exquisitely intelligent, deeply humane and wonderfully creative women from this site (and there are many more hoping to find the right one). Though the commonality of what brought us here embellished what we found in the other; it was and always will be the unfettered depth and verve of who we are that makes it so tangibly endearing!
Given that, thank you Lotus for igniting this thread through care, experience and insight, and to the contributors who have thus far broadened it to such a fitting degree.
And in that vein, maybe this forum and similar will enlighten others to respectfully reach the core of who a woman is, long before reaching for what she has outwardly.

April 24, 2022 at 6:26 am #129469Human beings are extremely complex, but our desires are comically simple. The first impression of anyone is just that- a crude caricature of the person. And often that’s good enough for a typical interaction. If anything there’s an intense desire to avoid complex personalities, to flatten the process down to a straightforward bargain, tit for tat (forgive the pun).
In the past I had naively thought that it would be just that simple, that there wouldn’t be so many strings attached, no baggage, no red tape, et cetera. But every time I was given a new lesson that people are far more complicated than they let on. None of the bargains were ever so straightforward.
As of the particular issue of low self-image, its a constant across the board. The fact of the matter is that we are a visual species, aesthetics do matter. Our brains prioritize visuals no matter what society has to say about it. Always have and always will. And moreover, painful though it is to admit, time only moves in one direction. Its a dreadful position to be in, but that’s life.

InactiveI have a positive and negative self image of my breasts, it’s pretty complicated so it is something I will write about in a blog post. I will say some of the negativity stems from men, and it’s not really anything that was said directly to me. Most men will not say something negative about a woman’s breasts to her face. It’s the online forums on this site and fet where I see this stuff, the intent may not be malicious, but it is bothersome to many.
