I was raised in a household environment where it was encountered to share and show emotions. Being a man that’s something rare. Men are raised to suppress emotions, that by being open and emotional in public is a weakness. I know many men like this. Besides being unhealthy to hold back emotions physically it’s also unhealthy in general life. I cry, I’m not afraid to admit when I’m sad. I’m open about being vulnerable. It’s all a part of life. I know I’m different than most men for this. What I don’t understand is women who don’t or can’t accept it. I’ve found myself in previous relationships with woman who, like men think it’s a weakness. Men are raised to be the strong, silent type. To be the providers, the protectors, to remain strong under all circumstances. I believe in those traits, I have those traits but I show my emotions too. I truly believe that if more men in society were like me, emotional and unafraid of what others might think of them for it, that this world would be a much better place

I agree with you, men are often labeled as weak if they show emotions. In my country, there’s a saying: “Real men don’t feel pain,” and I find that mentality deeply flawed. We’re human too, and we have emotions, so why is it such a taboo to show even a little of them?

I’ve seen men struggle through life alone just to avoid being judged as weak by society.
