I’m waiting for my dom to arrive, not having much luck with herbal methods/pumping/expressing. I find conflicting info on Google (hard to believe)…

Should I continue my pumping sessions or stop the first few days until I’m built up in supply? I’ve had on/off success with building up milk, starting to feel engorged, all the old feelings I used to get when breastfeeding. At the moment I’m in the off mode (reason for the dom).

Also, should you stop the herbs completely when starting dom?

Keep pumping!! I also use a tens machine too!
Fenugreek can cause problems hindering production, for some.

Thanks! Will do! I have to grab another TENS, mine is crappy and old. Fenugreek has worked for building up in the past, expressing wasn’t always the best, not near as good when I breastfed 30+ years ago, to be expected. I had started out with it this time round and it seemed to work, but then it just didn’t. I did Fen and Blessed Thistle. Then I changed to a tincture with both (and more). Nada…I also have found out that while I did my best to buy a discreet pump (elvie stride), I also wasn’t getting a strong pump- didn’t realize that.

I will continue to pump and cross my fingers since I still have the signs of filling up that it happens!

Definitely keep pumping and try to establish a consistent pumping schedule. If thats difficult add a TENS or hand expressing in place of a pumping time, like during working hrs.

Fenugreek has never been friendly to me. I’ve also read it can be counterproductive to use before milk is established. I like Shatavari and Moringa along with Dom. Goats Rue did nothing for me but others love it. I prefer the individual supplements but Legendairy has blends, their products can get pricey when it comes to prolonged use. Legendairy is also fenugreek free.

The key to lactation is patience and consistency. Without Dom, it can take up to 12 months to produce a supply. Hopefully, you will have success with a pumping schedule, Dom, and supplements.
