Hey ABFH friends. Im Juicyboobies or Joanne to those who know me. I am 42 year old woman who has given birth and breastfed a child many moons ago. I have been interested in abf/anr for the past 8 years but have not had the opportunity nor the energy until the last year to even attempt to induce. So, while sitting on my ass working from home last August I had the bright idea that I should buy myself a breastpump (Lansinoh double electric pump – £113.25 on amazon uk) and immediately went about pumping every 2 – 3 hours for 20 – 30 minutes (including 1 – 2 pumps during the night). And boy was I was dedicated, I gave up nights out, dinner dates and lunches with friends if I knew it would interfere with my pumping schedule. I won’t be that daft this time round. I continued this schedule for 18 weeks with very little success. At most my nipples were soaked after pumping with some white liquid in the funnel of the flange. During this time, I took no domperidone but took liquid gold, moringa and goats rue. I kind of gave up so to speak and cut back only pumping a week here or a day there feeling a little down heartened.
However, I am due to return to the office fulltime this September, so I realise this is my last chance while stilling working from home to bring this long held dream of mine to fruition. So here I am about to embark on another milky journey albeit this time with the much-needed help of domperidone.
So, I live in Ireland and Domperidone is only available by prescription in small amounts. Also, neither In House Pharmacy (IHP) nor AIPCTSHOP deliver to Ireland so I had to use an address north of the border to have it delivered, I’m lucky as I live within seconds of the border otherwise it wouldn’t have been worth my time. My first lot I ordered from IHP. This took absolutely forever (5 weeks) to arrive in the UK only to then be seized by some breastmilk hating Customs officer. I made contact with IHP who would not resend it as my Bank Account was Irish but the delivery address was UK but to be fair to them they issued a full refund almost immediately after I sent them an email.
This time round I ordered from AIPCTSHOP on the 26th February and it arrived at my chosen address on the 8th March and is currently sitting on my bedside locker. Aipctshopare far superior imo. The price was much cheaper too USD81.41 (vomistop) for 1000 tablets compared to GBP107.49 (domperidone) with IHP. Maybe the different brands had something to do with the prices though.
Anyhow, today is the first “real” day of me starting to induce and I am going to work up my domperidone dose very slowly in the process starting with 1 X 10mg three times daily. I will slowly work up my dose until I can enter the Olympics Milk Squirting Competition, though they probably won’t allow me partake due to the amount of drugs oops I mean domperidone in my system, sure who cares (I probably wouldn’t have won anyway).
A few points of note before I start. I have PCOS so any woman who has this knows that hormones and excess weight are part of the parcel. However, to try counteract the supposed extra weight gain from the Domperidone I am currently doing Keto to try have some control over it. I have also given up alcohol (except for the 1st of April where I am going to see Dirtbirds, if you don’t know who they are google them if your not delicate) for the next while to see does that help. I imagine most breastpumps have a do not operate whilst drunk warning on them anyway, ill check later.
On a Serious Note.
I have also read up on the domperidone related heart issues and have had not 1 but 3 ECG heart scans a fortnight ago, a d-dimer test and some other test to detect heart trouble. I am also due to have a Holter Heart Monitor fitted for 24 hours next Monday and if that’s all good, then I’m good to go. I would advise any woman to see their doctor before taking any medication and I definitely do not recommend purchasing from unknown sources.
So if any woman is interested to see how I get along over the next few weeks or months please give me a shout. Any advice from women only please would also be really appreciated.
March 9, 2022 at 2:07 pm #112326Did you tell your doctor what you’re doing and if so, how did he or she react?
March 9, 2022 at 6:20 pm #112377Hi Galacta, yes I spoke with my doctor as I needed him to refer me for the heart tests. My doctor is brilliant even though this is the first time he looked over his glasses at me. I was mortified but sure it is what it is. He wouldnt prescribe motilium for me though as he would be liable if something happened me on those high doses.

InactiveGood luck on your journey. It can be frustrating, as you’ve found out but the rewards are great. My two comments are this. Good for you, getting your heart checked, but I will point out that the people who had heart issues were in one study on very frail elderly people on high doses. So probably not as great a risk for you. Second, some women have trouble inducing with the genetics and need actual Motillium to see good results. Some can then switch over to the generics once their milk is in without it affecting supply too much. But everyone is different. I just wanted to share this with you in case you’re feeling frustrated by your results with the vomistop, at some point.
March 9, 2022 at 7:43 pm #112411Thank you @effervescent1 for your reply. I had read that the heart issues only affected the old but I said I’d get tested so as to alleviate any notions I might get if the meds dont agree with me. That’s also good to know about the motilium. I wont have time to try both paths as this is really my last chance to induce. Once I’m back work full time I’ll not be able to keep up with everything so I’m hoping I’ll experience some lactation before September. Fingers crossed.

InactiveYour journey sounds exciting and please dont be discouraged I wish I bet as far along in the process as you are so too me it sounds like your doing great. Thank you for the new site fir the DOM but yikes the shipping for me would be US$32. The DOM itself was only US$25.95. Still might be with it eventually. You mentioned no alcohol but have you noticed any effects caffeine might have? I’ve read that it has little no effect but curious if anyone has experienced anything?
March 9, 2022 at 8:11 pm #112417Hey @sunshine, thanks for your reply. I think the shipping stays the same if you ordered a few boxes though so it might make more sense to order a couple. I think you can put a note for them to ship them separately I read somewhere. I cant say for sure about the caffeine as I dont drink coffee and only about 2 cups of weak ish tea a day. I do notice if my water intake is low though that my nipplea will be dry as anything when I’m finished pumping whereas they are usually soaked after a good pump session. But I’ll keep track over the next few weeks for sure and let you know.
March 9, 2022 at 9:16 pm #112434You are brave! I would love to talk to my HRT Dr about this but there is no way. I couldn’t bring myself to do it!!
March 9, 2022 at 9:28 pm #112435@Galacta to be fair theres 2 doctors I can go to at my practice, one who gives you what you want, so I go to him when I know what’s wrong with me or when I know what I need then his wife is the other. Shes unbelievably thorough. I go to her when I’ve no idea what’s wrong with me. On this occasion I went to him 🤣🤣
March 11, 2022 at 3:27 am #112904Juicy, you’re taking a very wise and thoughtful course. It’s very smart to do the heart checkup. As you know, there have been reported risks like cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac arrest, and sudden death. These risks were related to the blood level of domperidone, and higher levels in the blood are associated with higher risks of these events, particularly when using it for an extended time period. Concurrent use of certain commonly used drugs, such as erythromycin, can raise blood levels of domperidone and further increase the risk of serious adverse cardiac outcomes.
However, discussing this with your physician (even if he looks at you over his glasses) and doing the heart checkup before is an excellent move. That way you can use it with medical supervision.
Best of luck….

InactiveMy doctors thought I had a heart murmur years ago so I have had a total of 3 EKGs, one ultra sound of the heart, and 2 Holter monitors 3 years apart. Because I had all over these tests done over the course of 10 years I felt safe taking domperidone without consulting my doctor. I would be more inclined to say something if domperidone were FDA approved in the US. I do not want to be labeled as a drug user for taking something that is not FDA approved, especially since that could affect my current script for anxiety meds.
As far as inducing and going back to work. The second time I induced I used domperidone and this was while I had been furloughed because of covid. When I finally did go back to work I cut down on pumping drastically and I frequently forget to take domperidone, but the milk did not dry up. I’m not producing 2 ounces on each side every 3 hours anymore, but I can still squirt quite a bit lol. Everyone is different, but I do know a lot of women that have had the same experience I have had.
As far as the trials and safety of domperidone. The studies I read indicated that domperidone had negative effects on elderly patients that were receiving domperidone intravenously. I have not read anything about women having major side effects from taking domperidone orally to induce. Motilium is the gold standard, and I do take that when I want to up my production with minimal effort. Cadila is the brand of domperidone that I take if I just want to maintain supply. It is considerably cheaper than Motilium, I paid about 60 USD for 2,000 pills.
March 11, 2022 at 8:56 am #112949@lusciousliz thanks for your reply. I cannot understand how it is not FDA approved as there are drugs far worse and addictive, with horrendous side effects that are approved yet a drug that could be easily monitored for inducing breastmilk doesnt even get a look in. It’s almost like the powers that be would rather mothers with low milk supply turn to formula then give them help and support with a drug that is known to be very safe when used as prescribed the world over.

InactiveI do not understand it either. Viagra is far more dangerous than domperidone is. But that’s ok, men need their erections, even if it means they could have a heart attack.
March 11, 2022 at 2:06 pm #113001It must have something to do with the patent expiring so there wont make enough money putting it through all the trials etc again possible.
On another note I’m 3 days into taking 10mg three times a day and I’m killed with heartburn. Has anyone else experienced that on domperidone
March 11, 2022 at 4:27 pm #113031I had terrible heartburn in the beginning but it did get better as time went on.
