Hi,
I am taking a supplement, massaging, hand expressing, pumping and getting the occcasional suckle (very occasional). I have lactated in the past.
I am able to hand express milk in the shower, I get regular drops, no squirting milk yet (for about 20-30minutes) but I am struggling to express dry and hardly anything is coming out with the pump. My pump is a double electric hospital grade pump.
Has anyone sucessfully induced and do you have any tips to help get my milk flowing with the pump please?
I would love to hear any advice or suggestions, please feel free to message me if you would prefer
TIA 😊
Hi Lani,
I’ve direct messaged you.
@lani
Unfortunately, pumps really are not all that great at emptying the breast. To increase supply pump for 20 minutes for stimulation, and hand express afterward to empty the breast. Continue hand expressing between pumping, hand expressing is the next best thing to a mouth.
100% what Elizabeth said.
My TENS is great and it stimulated the nipples to make more prolactin. I believe it’s more effective than a pump and less than regular suckling
Your Tens @alexa34544 ? So do you mean regular electric stimulation through patches?
Yes, that’s what I mean
Be careful with a tens when you are lactating, I got a severely clogged duct, do to all the stimulation and not being able to express the milk fast enough. It was no bueno!! Be ware!!
