I am curious as to how others define what Adult Breast Feeding(ABF) versus Adult Nursing Relationship (ANR). What do the terms mean to you? What is your preference?
January 17, 2023 at 9:16 pm #233043This is how I see it. ABF refers to breast suckling by an adult. Despite using the word feeding, it can be dry or lactating. It refers to an activity in a point in time.
ANR refers to an ongoing relationship involving breast feeding. The activity that they engage in is ABF.January 17, 2023 at 9:17 pm #233044My preference is ANR.
January 17, 2023 at 9:37 pm #233053I agree completely with your definition @breastlover
January 17, 2023 at 10:14 pm #233067I view abf as the activity. Anr is the relationship nomenclature whether short or long term, casual, Bfwb, etc…
January 17, 2023 at 10:16 pm #233070I view ABF to be a subset of ANR. And I prefer ANR. I agree with @breastlover

InactiveKnow Nd of similar to Grogman. I see ABF as the activity, sensual and enjoyable. ANR is much more involved, it requires a long term commitment from both partners, round the clock nursing and bonding… delightful.
January 17, 2023 at 10:35 pm #233090to me, ABF is an occasional breastfeeding event over like a weekend and not always consistent nursing.
ANR- is a full-time, live-in partner of breastfeeding many times a day, every day over days, months and years.Yes, ANR is much more fulling as I tried both and was in a 10-year ANR
January 17, 2023 at 10:41 pm #233093I agree with others. Abf casual and anr a relationship
January 18, 2023 at 12:09 am #233122Thanks for the replies! I look at it as ABF as casual temporary or part time encounters of nursing and ANR as a relationship. My preference is ANR
January 18, 2023 at 3:00 am #233193ABF is breast feeding and breast play. It might be done casually or with passion. ANR is long term nursing relationship, dry or wet, usually with emotional attachment and monogamous.
I am looking for ANR.January 18, 2023 at 8:15 am #233262Anonymous
InactiveI posted this about a year ago.
For me, a confusing aspect of this interest is there are many different definitions for common terms and acronyms used.
My own little ideas are that ANR means a fuller, committed relationship between two people, while ABF simply refers to a shared desire for suckling. Lactation may or may not be part of both of these. Breast worship may also be part of either of these, but is also about manual stimulation?
I would love to hear other’s thoughts on this.January 18, 2023 at 8:26 pm #233414I see ABF as a step towards an ANR. A lot of factors go into establishing an ANR. Everyone is so busy nowadays, Just meeting in a place to be able to suckle is sometimes difficult to achieve. If the parties take the step of ABF first then see if they can manage that, then after a time if both parties agree then they can segue into an ANR. If it’s not feasible then at least they had the fun of ABF. 🤗
January 19, 2023 at 3:52 am #233597I agree that ABF is just feeding! An Anr is a relationship breast centric! Hands down relationship
January 19, 2023 at 5:00 am #233633I agree with most of the previous responses. I have always thought that ABF was an occasional activity that did not involve an ongoing relationship or commitment. I have found ABF to me more of a transaction…I give you this and in return you give me that…focused on mutual pleasure and satisfaction. As a transaction, it feels less satisfying because of the lack of bonding and emotional connection. ANR (for me) means a committed, breast/lactating-centric relationship, where both parties are equally invested in the lactation, the relationship and each other, and where emotional connection and bonding are vital aspects of the relationship.
