Do you all use normal breast feeding positions? Breast feeding pillows etc. Do you suckle to go to sleep?
I have suckled in several positions. The easiest is side by side laying down. And yes, I have suckled and fallen asleep— though that is rare. Breastmilk is rather exciting for me
There are at least as many positions for adult breastfeeding as there are for breastfeeding infants. I’ve experienced two so far – laying side by side on the bed or sofa, and the woman on top position, (good for suckling and sex at the same time if desired). Another I want to try is the head in the lap, which does sometimes need a pillow. (Some people can suckle without a pillow). I’ve nearly experienced falling asleep while suckling – it’s a heavenly feeling, and must be even more so to wake up later fully rested and ready to resume.
Jan, it all depends on place, circumstances and mood of both partners.

I know I’m late to this, but just to chime in, I’ve found a few different positions that work well, depending on mood/time/situation. My first ANR partner, who fortunately had experience, taught me that being in a very physically comfortable position as the woman is super important, so you can feel supported and relax more fully.
Sitting up in bed against a back cushion, with my partner’s head in my lap, I personally find most comfortable for a longer nursing session. You might find as I did that you’ll need a long-sleeve button-front top or cardigan to keep warm while nursing with open breasts/chest. I love this position, something about it makes me feel like a goddess. 🙂
Lying side-by-side in bed is also wonderful, and you can experiment with putting pillows behind/alongside you or elsewhere to have good support if you are (or end up) nursing longer. I often love to sleep nude together in a committed LTR/ANR for this experience. To drift off to sleep facing each other, looking down to see his jaw working to suckle deeply, is SOOO wonderful. I also really love the feeling of being totally physically available to my partner, so for him to be able to find my bare nipples easily through the night without us even waking (or barely), with that warm skin-on-skin touch, feels incredible. Also sensual and arousing for me at night, so easy access for both nursing and sex feels amazing to me.
Lying alongside up on my elbow, with him lying on his back, has never lasted more than a few minutes for me without my arm starting to hurt.
Another fave is him sitting on the sofa, him and/or me holding my breasts to his mouth while straddling him. And actually, no, this doesn’t always lead to sex (though hell, it often does). This one can be nice at the end of the workday while still dressed, just an easy sofa position to unwind with a suckle and reconnect for a bit.
Surprising him at the kitchen table by walking past as your robe falls open, then letting your nipple drop into his waiting mouth, is delicious too. Something about that angle really gets me.
